Ready, Set, Safe! Because every child deserves a safe place to learn and play.

We founded The Hummingbird Alliance to prevent other families from experiencing the loss we did. Now, we’re relaunching as Ready, Set, Safe!—a name inspired by our son Alex’s joy and energy.

In this new chapter, we’re expanding our focus: giving parents, teachers, policymakers, and industry leaders the tools to make kids’ spaces safer, while continuing to push for stronger gate and fence safety laws and regulations (including a big playground safety win—see below!).

We’re also thrilled to welcome our first Executive Director, Samantha Lasky, who will help lead this work going forward.

Thank you for your support—and please share this with other caregivers as kids head back to school this fall.
