Building a Legacy of Safety
Ready, Set, Safe! was founded after the heartbreaking and preventable death of the founders’ son Alex, a first-grader who was fatally injured when a large, unsecured chain-link gate fell on him during recess. Tragically, stories like Alex’s aren’t unique. Across the country, children are injured—or worse—because of overlooked hazards in their everyday environments. Accidents like these are preventable. That’s where Ready, Set, Safe! comes in: We start by empowering grown-ups with the information and resources they need to ask the right questions and develop a safety mindset that helps protect the kids in their lives.
